* The Cooling capacity of this unit is rated at 16000 BTU's which is rated to cool a typical 500 square foot room. Such measurements assume a standard ceiling height, basic building insulation and normal sun exposure. A 2 story ceiling would require twice the cooling. A sunnier room would require at least the next step up in size. Portable air conditioners require venting outside the room, and either come packed, or accept separately purchased venting supplies, such as hoses and window hose mounts.  The 4,000 BTU heat Pump is only designed to be used for supplemental heat and will be limited in its capacity to provide comfort in large spaces during the winter months.
